Learn How Parent/Child Interaction Therapy Helped One ABC Mother & Son – 6/5/17
We started PCIT last summer, which stands for Parent Child Interaction Therapy. It felt really daunting in the beginning and I wasn’t sure it would work with my son. Well I was so wrong. It taught me how to communicate with my child on his level and in turn helped him communicate with me closer to mine and we were having fun together. I also noticed that he actually began responding to requests without hesitation or fuss. Now when I ask him for his iPad he just hands it to me. When I tell him it’s bedtime he literally puts himself to bed. I would recommend this to all parents who feel detached from their child or just need help learning how discipline, communicate or simply play with their child. Thank you Autism Chicago!!!!!
